What causes my bottom back teeth to hurt SO much after drinking certain alcohol?

I have realized that when I drink tequila or smirnoff-type girly beers, my bottom teeth will hurt for the next week! They only hurt when the toothbrush touches them, or when I try to eat something hard like a chip or pretzel. Ow!

Always have a good dental review. So why does this happen?

Thank you!

Recession would be my best guess, especially if your DDS has given you a clean bill of health. If you are fastidious brusher you may notice the gum area alittle pulled away next to the gumline. Why certain beverages bother your teeth and others don't is anyone's guess. Make sure you have a soft toothbrush and if you continue to have an increase sensitivity, ask your dentist about possibly having a fluoride treatment - fluoride decreases sensitivity in some cases, or you can try some of the sensitive toothpastes on the market, Sensodyne is the best so far
Reply:They could hurt due to sweetness of the drink or coldness of it,This usually happens when u have a root surface exposed, in a more serious situation u may have a crack in one of the cusps on the tooth. See Ur Dentist to have it checked.
